David Templeman has long-standing CEO and volunteer board experience including a 40- year career with the Australian Government, half of it in senior executive roles, within Australia and overseas. His final government position was Director-General of Emergency Management Australia where he was responsible for national/international preparedness and coordination for local and regional emergencies. David recently completed 7 + years as CEO of the Australian Council of Deans of Education which assists in producing teacher-graduates of the highest quality who are well equipped to work in the demanding range of education-related workplaces and situations throughout Australia.

David has well-established leadership and contribution to national community preventive health reform. His own volunteer experience includes addressing priorities for First Australians’ health and access, drug and alcohol harm, family and domestic violence, welfare, rural law, and justice support and was a long-term emergency management adviser to St John Ambulance Australia. He recently completed eight years on the Board of the Public Health Association of Australia, four as President, and is a founding member of the Emergency Leaders for Climate Action group established in 2019. David joined Fearless ANZ PTSD Board in 2021.
